Composition Competition Submissions

Rules
The Ponce International Composition Competition is open to composers of all ages, genders, and nationalities.
Only new works will be accepted for mixed choir, treble choir, or children’s choir
Submitted works must be a cappella and choral (without accompaniment)
The duration of the work should be 3-5 minutes
The work must be original, unpublished, and not having been awarded at another competition
If the text is not in English, it is mandatory to submit a translation
The score will be anonymous to the adjudicators and only identified with a 5-digit code as a pseudonym
Composers may submit more than one application
The participation fee is $50 USD for the first work submitted and $30 USD for each additional work
The participation fee must be paid via credit card at the time of application
The jury will select 6-8 composition which will be performed on the finale concert in Ponce, Puerto Rico
All decisions of the jury are final and will not be elaborated
The deadline for submission is Tuesday, April 15, 2025

Concert and Awards
The date of the Grand Finale Concert is Saturday, November 22, 2025. The winning compositions will be announced at the concert.
1st Place - $500 USD
2nd Place - $300 USD
3rd Palce - $200 USD
Honorable Mention compositions will be performed on the Grand Finale Concert at the discretion of the jury.

The Ponce International Composition Competition is sponsored by Arts Engage International, a world-leader in musical performance and exchange, building bridges of friendship through the arts. The festival is coordinated and organized locally by Professor Brandon Torres from the University of Puerto Rico – Ponce.
Notification
Applicants will be notified of the results via email by September 1, 2025.
